Become a better defender

This is by far the aspect of the game you can definitely improve upon. Most players don’t spend enough time practicing defense and they just rush the guy with the ball. Of course you can win plenty of games that way. But I once won an entire division 2 season without conceding a single goal.  Defending in FIFA 15 is just as tactical, if not even more tactical than attacking.

Off the ball defending

Sometimes you need to not worry about the person in possession of the ball, and worry more about the possible passes your opponent has available to him. Sometimes you’re much better off holding R1 and letting the CPU defend the ball possessor while you control another defender and try to cut out passing lanes, or close the gap between you and your opponents best option. In fact I would say that when not in possession of the ball, off the ball defending is utilized just as much if not more than one on one direct defending.
